Eric’s law-enforcement career began in 1991 when he began working as a Community Service Officer with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office. Over the next 23 years, he was promoted through the ranks due to his increasing skill, education, and experience. A proven leader, in 2010, Eric earned the promotion to Captain at BCSO. In 2006, Watson was elected overwhelmingly to the House of Representatives, in which his service included appointments to the Chairmanship of the powerful, House Criminal Justice Committee, by Speaker of the House Beth Harwell, while he was also named Co-Chair of the National Conference of State Legislators, Law & Criminal Justice Committee. He was also appointed to serve on the Tennessee Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. Eric was selected to be a member of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Inaugural State Academy, and was chosen by his peers to be Class President. In 2014, Eric was chosen as the Republican nominee for Sheriff and was soon elected as the 49th Sheriff of Bradley County. During his first 4 years as Sheriff, Bradley County Sheriff’s Office accomplished monumental milestones which led to many accomplishments and awards.
